Here's why we built a weather app for runners

For many of us, the struggle of running is a big part of its allure. We endure the discomfort, and go further when our minds are telling us to turn around and go home. We embrace the challenge.

Running is the simplest sport there is.

It’s also one of the hardest. And let’s be real, if it didn’t make us feel so good afterwards, we probably wouldn’t be doing it.

For many of us, the struggle of running is a big part of its allure. We endure the discomfort, and go further when our minds are telling us to turn around and go home. We embrace the challenge.

But, even on the good days when conditions are right and energy levels are up, it’s not always easy to step outside. Now, say it’s cold and windy or hot and humid? What if the temperature starts dipping below freezing? Weather can be the deciding factor between heading out for a run or staying in.

At Running Weather™, we believe almost every day is a great day to run. That there’s no such thing as good or bad weather, just the right or wrong gear for running in it.

We created the Running Weather™ app to help more runners get outside more often—and feel comfortable regardless of the elements. Whether you’re taking an easy jog or setting out on a hard run, it’s all too easy to over- or underdress. Every runner knows that once we start moving, we heat up fast—but we often dress for how we think we’ll feel at the start, not for how we’ll actually feel in the middle of the workout.

Running Weather™ anticipates and recommends what will be most comfortable for your whole run, not just the first few minutes. We wanted to build an essential weather tool for runners to help all of us go further and deeper in our journeys.

Running is hard enough when it’s 67℉ and sunny. Our goal is to make it a little bit easier to get out and keep moving in any kind of weather.
