Make every run more comfortable, personalized, and enjoyable with just a couple of clicks.
Running Weather was designed to be as simple as it gets—a weather app that shows you what to wear. Bing, bam, boom. For many of you, that’s exactly what it is: a quick glance before heading out the door, confirming the conditions, and validating your outfit.
But it can also be much more. We envisioned an app that understands exactly what’s comfortable for you at every temperature and in every condition. All it takes is a few clicks before and after your runs. Follow the steps below to build your history and let Running Weather automatically tailor your clothing recommendations to your preferences.
Step 1: Check the weather and choose your gear
For most of our users, this is Running Weather in a nutshell. You take a quick look at the conditions and glance at our recommended gear. If the suggestion seems too light, you might choose “warmer.” If it feels like too many layers, you’ll go with “cooler.”
Some runners opt for “cooler” on cold days if they’re planning speed work, tempo runs, or a race. On the flip side, choosing “warmer” might make sense for a long, slow distance run (LSD). It’s all about what’s right for your activity and comfort level.

Step 2: Hit “Confirm” to record your gear
Once you’ve decided on your outfit using our recommendations, simply hit the “Confirm” button. This step locks in your choice and signals that you’re heading out for your run in that gear. After 30 minutes, the amount of time for an average run, the app will be ready for your feedback.
Step 3: Rate your outfit
You’ve finished your run, hydrated, and cooled down—now it’s time to give your feedback. Refresh the app or reopen it, and you’ll see a prompt asking about your run. Select “just right,” “too warm,” or “too cold” to log your experience.
This step is where the magic happens. Your feedback helps Running Weather fine-tune its recommendations, keeping them dynamic and hyper-personalized. The more you rate, the better the app understands your preferences.

The Magic of Consistency
The real magic of Running Weather unfolds when you consistently rate your outfits. Over time, you’ll build a complete record of what feels “just right” for you across the spectrum—from 0℉ to 100℉ (assuming you can find comfort in such extremes!).
For example, if you notice that you’re always “too warm” above 89℉ and can’t dress any lighter without breaking public decency laws, it might be time to explore cooler times of day or—gasp—an air-conditioned treadmill at the gym.
